Into Music since childhood, growing up with recorders in all registers for a long time, short intermezzo with the violin, then started the alto sax and later switched to his current main instrument: the tenor sax.
Strong passion for sound and music. Decided to keep music as a passion and sound and audio engineering as a passion and livelihood. Countless bands, from jazz to fusion, bigband to combo, soul and rock. Many of them together with Johannes (Doebertin), whomhe has known since the early 80s in school and with whom he has been musically connected ever since.
Jochen in his own words: ‘I love the unexpected, the spontaneity, both when listening to music and when performing with all the bands. The energy and vibrations that arise within the band and the audience are transmitted between them. The Baarn Project has become like a big family that I miss when we don’t have rehearsals or concerts. And when we get together with all the other brilliant musicians, things really take off’.
